In 2015, the Department of Defense named CVS Health, the parent company of CVS/pharmacy, as one of 15 recipients of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The 2015 recipients were honored at an August 2015 ceremony in the Pentagon.
