Since 2012, CVS/pharmacy, America's leading retail pharmacy, has been a proud supporter of WeSalute (founded as Veterans Advantage), offering exclusive benefits on skin care and beauty products, home health care products, vitamins, household cleaning and office supplies, snacks, and food. In 2021, CVS Health, CVS/pharmacy's parent company, created new WeSalute (founded as Veterans Advantage) prescription pharmacy benefits and urgent care savings.

CVS/pharmacy has a long-standing commitment to veterans. In addition to its WeSalute (founded as Veterans Advantage) discounts, the company is committed to hiring veterans and military spouses for 25 percent of its new hires in its distribution centers and logistics.

In 2015, the Department of Defense named CVS Health, the parent company of CVS/pharmacy, as one of 15 recipients of the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The 2015 recipients were honored at an August 2015 ceremony in the Pentagon.
