National Military Appreciation Month & Memorial Day Military Discounts 2025

May 1st starts National Military Appreciation Month, a month-long salute where we honor those who served, are currently serving, and their families that stand tall by their side. Also, during this month companies show their support for our military and their family by providing special discounts just for them.

Where Can I Get Military Discounts on Memorial Day and Veterans Day With the WeSalute+ ID Card?

While many businesses offer military appreciation discounts, especially during key periods like National Military Appreciation Month (May), Memorial Day weekend, National Veterans and Military Families Month (November) and Veterans Day (November 11), these are often unadvertised military freebies or discounts. Plus, these businesses may not always have standardized procedures for validating traditional military IDs.

So you'll need to ask.

What discounts are available related to travel for military and veterans?

Travel:

Alaska Airlines offers special military fares for active duty service members traveling on official excused absence. Additionally, through the WeSalute+ program, members can receive a 5% discount on flights year-round.

American Airlines Vacations, in partnership with WeSalute, is offering a 10% discount on the land portion of your next vacation to active duty military, veterans, and their families who are WeSalute+ Members.

Amtrak discounts are available if you plan on traveling by train; get savings of 10% off for veterans found here, also applicable to active duty military here.

Avis is offering a discount of up to 35% off on car rentals to WeSalute+ Members, and a free waiver to enjoy the perks of Avis Preferred Plus, a $4,000 value.

Greyhound offers a year-round discount of 10% off tickets for all active duty, veterans, and National Guard/Reserve members for WeSalute+ Members carrying the WeSalute+ ID Card.

JetBlue offers a 5% discount on flights, two free checked bags, and no phone booking fees for WeSalute+ Members, including active military members, veterans, and their families. JetBlue has supported WeSalute's mission for over 10 years and provides these extra perks to show their appreciation for your military service.

Southwest Airlines offers Active Duty military personnel early boarding and free baggage (up to 20 pieces of baggage). Veterans enjoy everyday low fares with waived change/cancellation fees, refundable tickets, and two free checked bags.

United Airlines has been a proud supporter of WeSalute since 2004. They offer a 5% discount year-round to WeSalute+ Members. This is one of the most popular discounts provided through WeSalute.

Hotels:

Hyatt Hotels offers a 10-15% discount to active duty military, veterans, and immediate family members traveling with a qualifying service member. A proof of service is required at check-in. 

IHG Hotels offers those who served and their families at least 5% on the “Best Flexible Rate” at its participating locations worldwide.

La Quinta Hotels is offering 12% off their standard rate for military members. If you are looking for extra savings enjoy up to 20% off the best available rate through WeSalute+.

Red Roof Inn has a few varying offers for the military community. They offer around 10% off for all government, military, veterans and retirees. For deeper savings you can get 15% off with a free WeSalute membership or 20% off through WeSalute+.

Super 8 offers eligible armed forces members 15% on a “Standard Rate” stay at participating Super 8 by Wyndham hotels in the U.S. and Canada. You can save an additional 5% for a total of 20% off your stay through WeSalute+.

Wyndham Hotels is offering a 12% discount off their best available rates to show their appreciation for service members. Or for further savings WeSalute+ Members can enjoy up to 20% off.

What car companies are offering discounts for National Military Appreciation Month and Memorial Day?

Many major car companies are offering discounts ranging from $500 - $2000 on a purchase of new vehicles. We have sorted these discounts by dollar amount to easily show how much you can save if you are in the market for a new car.

These companies are currently offering $500 off for military members: Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

Ford and Lincoln offer a $500 bonus for eligible models just like the other companies above but to further extend a real thank you to our military members they have partnered with WeSalute to offer exclusive no-haggle X-Plan pricing for WeSalute+ Members that is usually only available to those who work at the company!

MINI is offering $500-$1,000 off MSRP toward a new vehicle lease or purchase for Active Duty, Veterans, Retirees, Reservists, and their immediate family members.

Tesla offers $1,000 off any model for military members and their spouses.

Cadillac is offering a $1,000 military discount on most models. 

BMW offers a discount of $500 to $5,000 toward a vehicle lease or purchase for members of the military and their spouses which you can check out here on their website.

Entertainment:

AMC Theatres offers varying discounts depending on location which you can check here for participating locations. If you are interested in deeper savings on tickets and also refreshments check out our promotion with AMC and receive up to 40% off.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay & Adventure Island offers Waves of Honor permits to any U.S. active duty military, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman to one complimentary admission per year to either SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Sesame Place for military personnel and as many as three direct dependents.

Cinemark offers discounts that vary upon participating locations or check out up to 20% off movie tickets through WeSalute+.

Disney World is offering special rates now through December 19, 2025 for military members. Choose between a 4-Day, 5-Day or 6-Day Disney Military Salute Ticket with the Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus option (formerly the Disney Military Promotional Ticket) for visits in 2025.

Legoland offers discounts available for admission and sometimes lodging, which is also available to military families.

National Parks provide current US military and dependents, Gold Star Families, and US military veterans free annual or lifetime passes, which cover entrance or standard amenity (day-use) fees at national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, and other federal recreational lands - over 2,000 recreational areas.

Regal Cinemas offers discounts dependent on location that extends to military families. Military members and family can also receive up to 25% off with WeSalute+.

Six Flags is offering 20% off general admission tickets and if you want to save double, check out our Six Flags discount of up to 40% off.

What discounts are available at restaurants for National Military Appreciation Month?

Applebee’s offers a 10% discount off your total bill as a way to thank those who serve.

Ben & Jerry’s provides varying discounts between 10-15% off your ice cream purchase.

Boston Market shows its appreciation with a 20% discount off your meal.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. offers a 15% discount on Memorial Day to honor those who have served.

Buffalo Wild Wings gives a 10% discount to show gratitude for military service.

Cinnabon offers a sweet 15% discount on its cinnamon rolls and other treats.

Cracker Barrel provides a generous 20-30% discount off your meal.

Dave & Buster’s offers 15% off food and non-alcoholic beverages to military personnel and first responders.

Denny’s gives a 10-20% discount depending on location.

Free Rein Coffee shows its support with a 20% discount on coffee and other beverages.

Golden Corral offers a 10-20% discount to show appreciation for military service.

Hard Rock Café provides a 15% discount on all non-alcoholic items and gift store purchases.

IHOP gives a 20% discount at most locations to thank those who serve.

Longhorn Steakhouse offers a 10% discount to show appreciation.

Noodles & Company provides a 15% discount on your meal.

Texas de Brazil offers a 10% discount to military personnel, teachers, and EMS workers.

What retailers are offering military and veterans discounts?

Adidas provides an exclusive discount of 30% online and in-store, and 15% at factory outlets, to all verified medical professionals, first responders, nurses, military members, and teachers.

Apple provides a 10% discount on products and accessories to members through a dedicated online Apple Store with WeSalute+. 

Bass Pro Shop calls it the "Legendary Salute Military Discount" which is 5% off in-person purchases for active military, veterans, retirees, guard and reservists of our U.S. Armed Forces.

Cabela’s being part of the Bass Pro Shop family also offers this same 5% off "Legendary Salute Military Discount".

Carhartt honors you with 15% off online on their website and in-person at Carhartt stores.

Champion is offering 15% off your first order and free shipping on every order as a member.

Game Stop honors active members of the military with a 10% discount on most merchandise including in-store purchases of Toys, Collectibles, and Pre-Owned items. Additionally, receive 35% off through the Helly Hansen Military Discount Program.

Hewlett-Packard (HP) offers a dedicated military & veterans store for deeper savings and combinable deals on HP’s highly rewarded products, supplies, and services.

Home Depot offers a 10% off military discount on regularly priced merchandise for in-store and online purchases for all U.S. veterans, active service members, and spouses at participating locations.

Karen Kane is proud to offer a special discount of 20% off every purchase available to all educators, medical professionals, and military personnel.

Levi’s is offering a special 15% off military discount on everything you could want including jeans, tees, shirts, outerwear, hats, shorts and more.

Lowe’s honors active duty, retired and military veterans and their spouses with a 10% discount on eligible items plus free Silver Key status.

Old Navy is offering 10% off in-store purchases.

Under Armour offers active duty military, veterans, retirees as well as first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, and educators 20% off online purchases and 10% off at Under Armour Factory House, which is Under Armour’s outlet stores.

Other Services:

American Express offers waived annual fees for all credit cards, providing significant savings for cardholders.

AT&T is honoring the military with 25% off unlimited wireless plans, with plans starting at less than $27 a month for four lines, making it an affordable option for families.

Disney+ provides 25% off annual subscriptions through ShopMyExchange.com, providing access to a vast library of movies and shows at a discounted rate.

DirectTV offers $5 off every month for the life of the account for members of WeSalute+. 

HelloFresh offers 55% and free shipping off the first box, and 15% off for the following 51 weeks, making meal preparation convenient and affordable for the whole year.

Microsoft is offering 10% off select products, also available to family members, providing savings on computers, software, and other electronics.

Paramount+ offers a whopping 50% off for life of the subscription, offering substantial savings on streaming entertainment.

PODS offers military members and their families a 10% discount on long-distance moves and convenient on-site container storage.

Samsung offers a military discount of up to 30% on smartphones, computers, and appliances available with WeSalute+.

SmartBox provides discounts for portable storage solutions that are ideal for military families, especially those who are between base assignments and require quick access to storage space.

T-Mobile offers a military discount of up to 20% on monthly new rate plans for up to 12 lines. This discount is available for U.S. active duty members, retirees, veterans, current or former guard or reserve, and Gold Star family members.
